Zeeky tagline

I wrote a tagline for the startup Zeeky, a “single platform where franchises, franchisees, and agencies can work together to drive your franchise forward.”

BACKGROUND
Zeeky built a powerful software platform to provide a comprehensive suite of marketing services for franchises and their franchisees. Franchises can “Drive customer acquisition, conversion, and engagement with a complete suite of tools to manage your brand,” while franchisees are empowered to “tailor their own experience online with custom location pages, content management, marketing campaigns, social retargeting, optimization, and more.” The main pillars of the platform (from zeeky.co) are below.

01—CONTENT MANAGEMENT

Connect directly to your website and streamline business tasks. Zeeky offers a single portal to manage all your content, for all your locations.

02—LEAD & DATA ANALYTICS

Zeeky uncovers the powerful metrics that matter. Aggregate all your web data in one simple dashboard, manage your leads, and track your results.

03—PERFORMANCE MARKETING

Attract more of the right customers to the right locations with a suite of tools that lets each franchisee tailor and control their own online performance.

INSPIRATION
While working on concepts for the brand identity and visual brand language for Zeeky, I became interested in heat maps, pixel dot patterns, and infographic data visualizations. The aim was to visually synthesize a variety of concepts including the software nature of the platform, its comprehensive capability, and a wide range of geographical locations as well as input and output data.

One visual reference I found was ENIAC and its vacuum tubes.

ENIAC
ENIAC (Electronic Numerical Integrator and Computer) was one of the earliest computers designed and built, coming into operation in 1945. It makes for compelling visual images because of its large scale and now-archaic vacuum tube technology.

It's a compelling piece of computing history because of how successful it was and how it heralded the future of computing. Its computing power was new, impressive, and transformative. According to Wikipedia, it “calculated a trajectory in 30 seconds that took a human 20 hours (allowing one ENIAC hour to displace 2,400 human hours).”

Press at the time called it “a giant brain.” (Wikipedia further notes that “brain” was a frequently used metaphor for technological innovations during the war years.) I loved the phrase “giant brain.” I thought, “Hey, in its market space, Zeeky is new, impressive, and transformative. It's like a...”

WHY IT'S GOOD
The Zeeky platform offers so many valuable services to both sides of the franchise/franchisee relationship. Llike a lot of B2B offerings, though, some of the language to describe those services can feel a bit heavy on jargon.

The idea of a “giant brain” alludes directly to the impressive computation, synthesis, and flexibility of the platform, but in a way cheeky enough to pique attention and jump over any jargon hurdles.
